Stray animal seizure & collection

Responsive attendance for stray and unattended animals on public land and council-managed areas.

StGAR responds promptly to council requests for the collection of stray, unattended and nuisance animals. Our team attends the location, safely secures the animal and transports it to the appropriate facility in accordance with council procedures and applicable NSW legislation.

Dangerous & menacing animal response

Specialist attendance for vicious, dangerous, menacing and restricted breed animals.

Dangerous and menacing animal incidents require experienced, controlled handling. StGAR personnel are trained to manage aggressive, restricted and declared dangerous animals safely, minimising risk to the public, council officers and the animal itself.

Companion animal recovery

Recovery and reunification of lost companion animals, supporting councils since 1 July 1998.

Since 1 July 1998, StGAR has supported councils in the recovery and reunification of companion animals. We work within the framework of the Companion Animals Act to help return lost pets to their owners, reducing impoundment costs and supporting positive welfare outcomes.

Non-indigenous animal seizure

Seizure and impounding of non-indigenous and exotic animals in partnership with local councils.

StGAR has been involved in the seizure and impounding of non-indigenous animals since 1983. Our team is experienced in handling a range of exotic and non-native species, working in accordance with relevant legislation and council requirements.

Injured animal response

Prompt, welfare-focused attendance and transport for injured animals requiring veterinary care.

When animals are found injured on public land, a swift and careful response is essential. StGAR attends promptly, provides appropriate handling to minimise further distress, and transports the animal to a veterinary facility or council-designated location.

Deceased animal removal

Professional and respectful removal of deceased animals from public places and council land.
